" In 1934, the Hardin's proposed the establishment of the Hardin Foundation for Wichita County, Texas, the income from which would be used in part to endow a Junior College (Hardin Junior College). Also, the Hardin's gave gifts to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Amoung the grateful recipients of their gracious philanthropy are Baylor University Hospital and College of Medicine in Dallas and Baylor University in Waco. The Hardin's lived in Burkburnett, Texas.
