The book is bound in full leather. But it is not a tanned animal's-skin: it is a leather product, made through a hopper along with various plastic materials. It is called Leatherlen. It is stained gray with an intricate plan is stamped upon it. One stamping-die is sunk into the cover, to create the impression of iron bars around a window. The whole intricate plan forms itself into the reproduction of the wall of a prision. "
